A collection, not a search bar

There's a whole world of these waiting.

1

Nothing to type. Every question is already curated, sorted, and waiting inside a world.

2

A tiny answer and a tiny wow. Written for young readers, checked by grown-ups.

3

Then the next question. One handpicked follow-up, never a feed.

Along the way there's a quick Wonder Quiz to see what stuck, and a Wonder Cloud for wandering the whole library by feel instead of by search.

Every answer lives inside IntoWhy. Nothing links out to the open web.

Private by design

No child accounts, profiles, or behavioural tracking.

No app

Works on any browser. Best experienced on a laptop, tablet or home desktop.

Why we built this

Every child is curious, always asking questions.

We used to hand them an encyclopedia. Now we hand them a phone, and the internet answers with everything except what they asked. We built a place where one question gets one honest answer. Stay Curious.

Quick answers for grown-ups

Parent FAQ

What age is this for? +

Any curious child who's starting to read, anywhere in the world -- and it grows with them as their curiosity does. Younger ones are welcome too, exploring alongside a grown-up who can read with them. In fact, we love IntoWhy best as together-time. There is more on what good screen time actually looks like on the blog.

Can my child reach the open internet? +

Inside IntoWhy, no -- there are no outbound links and no open-web search, so children only ever see answers from our own reviewed library. A closed, safe garden. To be clear, though, IntoWhy is a website, not a lock on the device: like any site, a child could leave it and open something else. If you'd like to keep the screen fully inside IntoWhy, your device's own controls -- Guided Access on iPad/iPhone, Screen Pinning on Android -- do that in a couple of taps. Curious why a closed garden matters? There is more on what happens when you hand a kid a search bar.

Do you collect data about my child? +

We don't. No kid accounts, no tracking, no profiles.

Is this a search engine? +

No. IntoWhy is a curated collection your child explores by browsing worlds and cards, not by typing a question. There is a simple search box for when they already know what they want, but it only ever looks inside our own library, never the open web. More on why we built it that way.

How do you suggest we use it? +

Side by side. IntoWhy is made for together-time -- a grown-up next to a child, following the questions as a pair. And we're firm believers in less screen, not more: a short daily visit, around twenty minutes, is plenty to spark a week of wondering. It's meant to light curiosity, not fill an afternoon.
