How does a sewing machine stitch so fast?
Because a needle and a hidden hook team up to lock two threads together. The needle pushes thread down through the fabric, and underneath, a tiny hook catches that loop and wraps it around thread from the bobbin. Repeated at lightning speed, this makes neat stitches far faster than sewing by hand.
