Why does tape lose its stickiness?
Tape loses stickiness when its adhesive gets dirty, dry, or damaged. Sticky tape works by pressing soft adhesive into tiny surface gaps. Dust, skin oil, heat, and time can cover or harden that adhesive. Once it cannot flow into the surface well, the tape peels away more easily.
