How do fiddler crabs grow one giant claw?
Male fiddler crabs grow one claw huge for signalling and fighting. The large claw waves to attract mates and warn rivals. It can also push or grapple with other males. If the big claw is lost, a new one can grow, sometimes on the opposite side.
