Human Body
Why do you shiver before you feel warmer?
Shivering is your muscles making heat by tiny rapid movements. When your temperature drops, the brain tells muscles to contract again and again. That movement uses energy and releases heat. It may feel uncomfortable, but it is one way the body fights cooling.
