How do your lungs keep dust out?
Your airways trap and move dust before it reaches delicate lung parts. Nose hairs, mucus, and tiny waving hairs called cilia catch many particles. Cilia move the sticky mucus upward so it can be swallowed or coughed out. Some immune cells clean deeper areas.
