Human Body
Why do you feel cold when a fever starts?
You feel cold because the brain raises the body's temperature target. During some infections, the brain tells the body to run hotter. Until your temperature reaches that new target, you may shiver and feel chilled, even in a warm room. Later, you may sweat as the target drops.
