How does your body stop a nosebleed?
Your body stops a nosebleed by narrowing vessels and making a clot. Tiny blood vessels in the nose can break easily. Platelets stick together at the break, and clotting proteins form a plug. Gentle pressure helps by holding the vessel closed while the clot strengthens.
