How does an electric toothbrush vibrate so fast?

Because a tiny motor makes the whole brush head shake at incredible speed. Inside, a small motor spins an off-centre weight or magnetic drive. That motion makes the brush head vibrate or wiggle many times every second, helping the bristles scrub thoroughly all around your teeth.
