How do apartment buildings move rubbish from high floors?

Many tall buildings use rubbish chutes, service lifts or compactors to move waste down safely. In some apartment buildings, residents put bagged rubbish into a chute: a vertical tube that carries it by gravity to a collection room below. The room may have bins or a compactor that squeezes the waste. Other buildings use service lifts, scheduled collection or separate recycling rooms instead.
