How does drinking water stay clean while travelling through kilometres of pipes?
Clean water stays safe because pipes are sealed, pressurised and often carry a tiny disinfectant dose. After water is treated, it travels through closed pipes so dirt and germs cannot easily get in. The system keeps the water under pressure, which helps push water outward if a small leak happens instead of sucking dirty water inward.
