Why do washing machine doors lock during a wash?
Because a locked door keeps the water, spinning clothes, and curious hands safely inside. During a wash, the drum fills with water, heats up, and spins incredibly fast. Opening the door at the wrong moment could spill water everywhere or let someone touch the moving parts.
