How does a spray bottle turn liquid into a fine mist?

Because forcing liquid through a tiny nozzle breaks it into a fine, drifting mist. Squeeze the trigger, and a small pump pulls liquid up through the tube, pushing it out through a narrow opening. The liquid speeds up as it squeezes through, and the nozzle's shape breaks the stream into a spray of tiny droplets.
