Why do two wet glasses sometimes stick together?

Wet glasses can stick because a thin film of water seals the gap and air pressure helps hold them together. When one wet glass slides inside another, water can spread into a thin layer between them. That water makes a seal around the rim or sides, so air cannot rush in easily.
