Why are some sea slugs unbelievably colourful?

Because bright colours can warn predators that a nudibranch is unpleasant or dangerous to eat. Many nudibranchs have vivid blues, oranges and yellows. These colours can act as warning signals. Some species also store stinging cells or defensive chemicals from the animals they eat, turning a colourful body into a serious message for predators.
