Why do fennec foxes have giant ears?
Because large ears help them hear tiny prey and release body heat. A fennec fox hunts in desert darkness, where small animals may hide beneath sand. Its large ears collect faint sounds. Blood flowing close to the ear surface can also lose heat, helping the fox cope with a hot environment.
