How do your bones quietly rebuild themselves?

By using specialised cells that remove old bone and other cells that lay down new bone. Bone is living tissue. Cells called osteoclasts break down small areas of old or damaged bone. Osteoblasts then build fresh bone material. This constant remodelling helps bones adapt to forces, repair tiny damage and manage minerals such as calcium.
