Human Body
Why does one nostril sometimes feel more open than the other?
Because your nose naturally alternates which side is slightly more swollen. Soft tissue inside the nose contains blood vessels that can expand and shrink. Under automatic nervous-system control, one side often swells a little while the other opens more. After several hours, the pattern can switch. This normal rhythm is called the nasal cycle.
