Why do some desert buildings have wind towers?
Because windcatchers guide moving air into rooms and help buildings cool without electric fans. Traditional wind towers rise above rooftops and catch breezes from higher, clearer air. Openings direct the air downward into living spaces. Some systems work with courtyards or water, while warm air escapes elsewhere, creating a steady cooling flow.
