How do rooftop water tanks keep water flowing into homes?
By storing water high above taps so gravity can push it through pipes. In places with irregular water supply, a pump may fill a tank on the roof when water is available. The stored water sits above bathrooms and kitchens. Gravity then creates pressure, allowing water to flow down through pipes even when a pump is not running.
