Why do dried drink drops leave dark rings at the edge?
Because evaporation pulls liquid and tiny particles toward the drop's rim. The edge of a drop often sticks to the surface while water evaporates. Liquid from the middle flows outward to replace water lost near the rim. Pigment or other particles ride with that flow and pile up around the edge.
