Why can sunsets on Mars look blue?

Because fine Martian dust scatters sunlight differently from Earth's atmosphere. Mars is filled with tiny dust particles. Near sunset, their size and shape let blue light stay concentrated close to the Sun's direction while other colours spread more widely. A rover can therefore see a bluish glow around the setting Sun.
