How can an induction cooktop heat a pan without a glowing element?
A changing magnetic field creates electric currents—and heat—inside the pan. A coil hidden beneath the glass carries fast-changing electric current, creating a shifting magnetic field. Inside an iron or magnetic steel pan, that field stirs up swirling currents, and resistance turns that electrical energy straight into heat.
