Animals
Why did some animals survive the mass extinction?
Small bodies, flexible diets and sheltered lifestyles offered important advantages. Animals that needed less food, could eat many different things or shelter underground and in water had better chances of surviving. No single strategy guaranteed survival, but flexibility became extremely valuable in the disrupted world.
