How can scientists tell a young dinosaur from an adult?

Growing dinosaurs changed in ways their bones still record. Scientists study bone texture, growth lines and changes in body proportions. Young dinosaurs sometimes had different skull shapes, shorter horns or smaller crests, which can make juveniles look surprisingly different from adults.
