Why do dinosaur names sometimes change?

New fossils can reveal that scientists originally misunderstood a dinosaur. Two named dinosaurs may later turn out to be the same species, or new evidence may show that a fossil belongs in a different group. Scientific names change when researchers find a better explanation for the evidence.
