By using IntoWhy, you're agreeing to these terms. We've tried to write them the way we write everything else here -- clearly, and without jargon.

IntoWhy is operated by Into Why, an Australian sole trader business.

What IntoWhy is

IntoWhy is a free, curated library of short, illustrated answers to the questions kids ask -- "wonder cards." The complete library, Worlds, Explorations and discovery features are available without payment or an account.

The wonder-card library is curated and does not provide open-web search or link from answers to arbitrary sources. Public information pages may link to selected third-party services, such as our payment provider or social pages. IntoWhy is a curated web experience, not a parental-control or device-locking tool: it doesn't restrict what a child can do elsewhere on a device, so supervising device use remains up to parents and carers. Device features such as Guided Access (iPad/iPhone) or Screen Pinning (Android) can be used to keep a child within IntoWhy.

A note on how our content is made

Every wonder card starts from a real question kids ask, and is written and illustrated with the help of AI tools. We review each card for tone, age-appropriateness, and clarity before it's published. Even so, AI-assisted content can be simplified, incomplete, occasionally mistaken, or reflect a subjective choice of words -- the same way any single explanation of a big topic can. IntoWhy is meant to spark curiosity and give a helpful starting answer, not to serve as an authoritative source on medical, safety, legal, scientific, or other specialist matters. For anything important -- health, safety, or decisions that matter -- please check with a qualified professional or a primary source. If you spot something that looks wrong, we want to know: use Add to the library or contact us and we'll take a look.

Who this is for

IntoWhy is made for curious children who are starting to read, and it grows with them as their curiosity does. Younger children are welcome too, exploring alongside a grown-up who can read with them. We hope IntoWhy is enjoyed as shared time -- a parent, caregiver, or teacher beside the child -- and in small doses, around twenty minutes a day, so it sparks curiosity rather than filling screen time. The adults in their lives are welcome to browse directly, too. We don't require an account to explore.

Optional family accounts

Everything on IntoWhy can be explored without an account. An adult may optionally create one email-and-password account for the family to save account-level preferences and use personalised features as they become available. There are no separate child accounts or profiles.

A family account must be created and managed by a parent, carer, teacher, or other adult. You are responsible for keeping your password secure, for activity through your account, and for letting us know promptly if you believe your account has been used without permission. Please provide accurate account information and keep your email address current so we can send important account or service notices.

If you submit a question to us

When you use "Add to the library" to suggest a question, you're giving us permission to use, adapt, and publish it (or a version of it) as a wonder card, without any obligation to use every submission or to credit the submitter individually.

Acceptable use

• Don't use the site to submit anything abusive, unlawful, or intended to harm others.
• Don't attempt to disrupt, scrape at scale, or interfere with how the site runs.
• Don't misrepresent wonder cards as being written or verified by a licensed professional.

Suspension and termination

We may temporarily suspend or terminate an account if it is used unlawfully, abusively, fraudulently, in material breach of these terms, or in a way that threatens IntoWhy, its content, or other users. Where practical, we will explain the problem and give you a reasonable opportunity to correct it before termination, unless immediate action is reasonably necessary for safety, security, fraud prevention, or legal compliance.

If we terminate an optional account, account-based preferences may no longer be available. Public access to IntoWhy remains subject to these terms. Account information will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy and applicable law.

Intellectual property

The IntoWhy name, logo, and the wonder cards themselves belong to IntoWhy. You're welcome to read, share, and link to individual cards for personal or educational use; please don't republish the library wholesale or claim it as your own.

Service changes and availability

We may add, update, remove, or reorganise wonder cards and product features as IntoWhy develops. We may also need to interrupt access temporarily for maintenance, security, provider outages, or circumstances outside our reasonable control.

No warranty

IntoWhy is provided "as is." We do our best to keep it accurate, safe, and available, but we don't guarantee that every explanation is complete or error-free, that every particular card will remain available, or that the site will always be uninterrupted.

Limitation of liability

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any consumer guarantee, right, remedy, or liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited, including under the Australian Consumer Law.

Subject to those non-excludable rights, and to the maximum extent permitted by law, IntoWhy is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss arising from the use of, or inability to use, IntoWhy.

These limitations do not apply to fraud, wilful misconduct, personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot legally be limited.

Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any consumer guarantee, right, or remedy under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded. Where our liability can be limited, it is limited to the extent the law allows, and the disclaimers above apply only so far as the law permits.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the product grows or as legal and operational requirements change. If we make a meaningful change that affects a family account, we'll update the date at the top of this page and give reasonable notice through the account email where appropriate.

If you have a concern about IntoWhy or these terms, please contact us first at hello@intowhy.com so we can try to resolve it promptly. This does not limit your right to contact a consumer-protection body or exercise any right or remedy available under law.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. You and Into Why submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales and the courts entitled to hear appeals from them.

General

If part of these terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining parts continue to apply. If we do not enforce a term immediately, that does not mean we waive our right to enforce it later.
